Weekend in HOTlanta!

We just got back from our weekend in Atlanta and had a great time. It's always a crap shoot with 2 little kids, long drives and hotel stays but seriously...it wasn't all that bad. Sure we didn't get them to sleep until after 10pm every night in which they still woke up the next morning at 630a but they were minimally fussy and seemed to have as great of a time as we did.

Day one was at the Georgia Aquarium. This place was spectacular.
A docile whale shark. Apparently they only eat small krill and plankton.
I don't remember what this dude was called but he was so ugly I needed a picture.
Jellyfish, not a specie you want to meet while at the beach but pretty enough to photograph. If you get stung, put vinegar on it to soothe the pain. Gotta love all their fun facts they post on the walls.
Georgia playing peek-a-boo with this tiny fish who kept back his back end into a hole there in the sand when he saw her face. Too cute.
This might have been one of the strangest things we saw, a dragon something or other.
Playing at the fountains in Centennial Park
Grumpy man Nolan wanting NOTHING to do with the fountains

He is much happier at the park

Day two was the tour of the Coca-cola factory and later we drove out to Stone Mountain for some hiking

There were 64 selections of sodas from around the world we could sample. I don't think we tried all 64 of them but got darn close.

The first day was on a Sunday and we actually made it to the 0830 mass in one of their beautiful basilica's. The priest was great and delivered a beautiful homily. The drove out to Stone mountain on the second day brought a detour to Mustangs Unlimited. Should have been heaven on earth for Adam expect for the fact that it was so lame! It was a cross between a flea market and Napa. The Stone mountain park seemed cool but turned out to be a bit of a disappointment as well. If the trails aren't stroller friendly, people should post that somewhere! We were halfway through the mile long nature loop when terrain became questionable and Adam and I were having to lift our enormous double BOB over boulders and creeks. Lessons learned I supposed. Nolan slept through the entire experience. No pictures from this little escapade. Adam took a while to cool down...both from the heat and his um...frustrations. The only reason he agreed to any type of hiking was to please me. This Alaska girl misses the outdoors! It's not my fault!!!
