Eating well and the environment

Georgia's crazy hair upon waking

I know what she's thinking "now is the time for revenge!"

Our first time out cross country skiing
I have made my own observations over the past few months that we have eliminated disposable diapers, processed foods, grains and sugar (other than fruit and the occasional dark chocolate bar) is that I have also seriously reduced my waste. Like most people we have weekly trash pickup in which this is the second week now I have not set it out because I don't have a full can. I also pay extra for the pilot recycling program that offers curbside pickup. Well, they come every 2 weeks and I haven't set out the can because, again, I haven't filled it up! This is unprecedented for us. We used to have 2 full cans of trash and the recycling bin almost overflowing by the time pickup came around. I think reduction and simplicity in all aspects of our lives should be entertained rather than focusing on the newest innovative ways to waste. Lets get back to the basics.
