Wernickes Family Vacation

The soon-to-be Mrs Wickes on her bachelorette party night. Neon bowling baby. High score for me, 79.
Nolan, 2 years 8 months old
Georgia, just a week shy of 11 months old
If you're wondering why I am wearing an enormous bunch of flowers on my head I was a bridesmaid, it was her party and I had to. That's all I'm going to say about that.
The Hoh Humm ranch B&B (more on this later)
Oh, and it came with a pool
We thought the caked on bird crap was particularly alluring

My beautiful mil with my beautiful new sister-in-law, Vannessa Wickes
Well we just got back from a wonderful family trip. We went to WA state to see Adam's brother Keith marry the most wonderful women. I am so happy she shares the same last name and now I actually have a sister that I talk to. We started the trip out with a bridal shower. Vannessa has a fully furnished kitchen and a few goodies for the honeymoon. Next we went out to Adam's folks' house where we stayed a day and a half with them and some of our extended family the Werners. We took many walks, played with the kids and built a 3 par 1 hole golf course in the backyard. Good times. Next we drove out to the Hoh rainforest. The weather was incredible so we stopped by the beachfront and had lunch before touring the rainforest. The views were incredible. I only put two pictures here but I took so many amazing photos. I'm grateful for my new camera and Emma who helped with the artistic angles. That evening we stayed at a B&B called the Hoh Humm ranch. Well folks, I will never live down the awfullness of this place with my family. We thought for sure we might be murdered Misery style out there and fed to the lamas or to one of their hundred guinea hens clucking about. The place was a dump. I told Adam, "I want to leave, this place scares me!" he absolutely rejected this and promised to keep me safe. Well we did wake up safe the next morning but I hardly have him to thank. I was up the whole night worrying about this nasty place while he snored one bed over. After that unsettling experience we were off to Bothell for the wedding festivities. The day went off without a hitch, or with a hitch rather. Keith and Vannessa were hitched, happily waving goodbye from the sunroof of their limo as they set off for their 2 week honeymoon in Cancun. Jealous.

So here we are back in Alaska for a week now. First up on the main course was Red Flag and Adam's upgrade ride today. This gobbly gook means busy, busy, busy. He did pass his ride, thank you Lord, and tomorrow Red Flg is over so now we might actually see Adam. The weather has improved so that's good. We miss the Wickes and Werners so much. There is always fun times to be had a wonderful people to be with. Our kids adore them all and we just really long for the day that we are all one big happy family with nothing but maybe a states separation away.

Gosh, your kiddos are just too precious!! Don't you just love visiting family!! I am interested in the backpack you have Georgia in at the Space Needle, what is the name of it?

I am so creeped out by your B&B experience. I always want to try cutie little places but I'm terrified of the same thing happening. Maybe that's why I always choose a Courtyard by Marriott :-)
