20 week ultrasound

Daddy brought home a "big boy" truck for Nolan. His first word was truck so it was no surprise that he was thrilled to have this new toy.
Here is Nolan trying to enjoy a "big boy" beverage. I have to say Adam was not nearly as generous this time around.
We went to the Alaska State Zoo on Friday and here is one of the many creatures we saw. This is a Dall Sheep. Nolan had a great time and the weather was a little chilly at 10am but quickly warmed up later that afternoon and we were all in shorts playing outside.
Here is our tiny new tike. The gender is still a mystery. The tech was great at letting us know that he would be going into the southern regions and we should look away if we didn't want to know. This is the frontal view of the baby's face looking right at us.
Here is the profile with his/her hand right up by its mouth. We watched the baby yawn and fidget inside. The baby weighs about 12 oz and is lying transverse with the head on my left and feet kicking away on the right. Makes sense now. All the stronger movements can be felt on the right side. The heart rate was 158 and all obvious features of a growing infant were there. The tech said he knows what we are having and that whatever is there is formed properly. Good news!

I could never be an ultrasound tech! It would be too hard for me to keep my big mouth shut and I know I'd end up saying "he" or "she." Just thinking of all the fun you and I could have with our little ones if we were in the same city (oh, and our crazy husbands, too). When do you find out what's next? We won't know until the beginning of 2010.
