So Nolan had his 1 year check-up (1 month late). Here is his stats:
22lbs
30 inches tall
30 inches tall
7 teeth, eats anything!
walking/running
only word is "dada"
He got 7 shots yesterday so he is sleeping more than usual. Poor kiddo. I held him while they were shoving needles into his leg and he is crying, I am crying. Not a good day for either of us. Nolan just started doing the cutest thing. He walks around with the bear Adam got for him and hugs him, kisses his nose and lays with him. I know he misses his daddy. He has become a little lovebug. He kisses me, hugs me, will often times walk up to me and want to be picked up and just held. This is a side of him I have never seen but am loving it. He will plop himself in my lap if I am sitting on the floor and look up at me and smile. He melts me. Nolan is a little jabberjaw but doesn't say anything that makes sense to me yet. He does the "all done" sign at the table now which should curb the food throwing. Ahhh, small victories.
The weather has turned bad. Last week it was -20 and now it is 30F. You know what that means? Yes you guessed it we are in a watery slushy wonderland full of idiots who drive like they are on the Audubon. I think Nolan and I will stay indoors today for our safety and the safety of others. If some knuckle head hit us and hurts my babies I would be ringing necks. Adam has been gone for almost a week now. Only 3 more months to go. It will get easier but for now I'm not sleeping well despite being well armed...literally. I think I will get a home alarm system. My MIL is coming here next month and bringing Kaiser home too. The dog has always brought me comfort because he hears things way before I do. I miss that pup.
For now the pregnancy seems to be going well. Obviously I can't feel the baby yet and my first OB apt is Feb 12 where I will get the ultrasound to look at the little critter(s). I have no early pregnancy symptoms yet. I'm tired but is that because of the baby or because I'm chasing around a 13 month old. Hmmm...I will have my work cut out for me.

So, things at your house sound very similar to those at mine! Maddie was throwing food too and quit when she mastered "all done!" Also, she loves emptying my purse, her diaper bag, whatever. And she loves to call people with my cell phone. Luckily, so far its only been Josh or my parents! Sorry you're playing single mommy for a while, wish we were together so we could have playdates.
Oh yeah, also very few words...she says Da and uh-oh pretty regularly, we've heard a couple of bye-bye's and at Christmas time we had taught her to say "ho ho ho" when we asked about Santa. Of course she never did it for either set of grandparents, but she did it for the pediatrician at the 12 month check-up. That a way to make mommy proud!
hey tiff! I am glad you are feeling well. I thought you were going to wait to get Kaiser just in case you made a trip to Guam? It will be good to have a little security. I think getting an alarm is a good idea, we are actually talking about it once Kaeden comes... I can't wait until you begin putting prego pics up on the website!!!
